Who Are We?

The Associated Students of Grossmont College (ASGC) mission is to effectively serve and represent student needs, keep students informed on student related issues, ensure all students’ fair and equitable opportunities for success, and promote cultural, social, educational, and leadership opportunities for all students.

The ASGC was founded on July 1, 1961 and was later incorporated in 1970 in order to establish a functional student government to serve the students of Grossmont College. Early in the college’s existence, ASGC. selected the representative colors green and gold as well as the Griffin as the official mascot. Throughout the college’s history, ASGC. has been instrumental in the construction and operation of the campus bookstore, the financing of scholarships to students, providing equipment and technologies campus-wide, and the purchase of “College Connection” (Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District’s phone-in registration system).
